Guam Solid Waste Authority Accepting Bids for No Longer Needed Heavy Equipment

(Guam, May 1, 2012) – Federal Receiver Gershman, Brickner & Bratton, Inc. (GBB) today announced that it will accept sealed bids for the sale of certain heavy equipment that is no longer needed by the Guam Solid Waste Authority (GWSA) as a result of the closing of the Ordot Dump. This equipment includes:

Four Freightliner CL120 Dump Bodies
Model Year: 2003. Used to haul coral to the Ordot Dump for use as daily cover.
One Caterpillar 963C Track Loader
Model Year: 2003. Used to grade elevations and push waste items at the Ordot Dump.
One Caterpillar D-8R D&R Track Type Dozer
Model Year: 2003. Used to push waste items and cover material at the Ordot Dump.
One Caterpillar D-9RS D9 Dozer with ripper
Model Year: 2003. Used to push waste items and cover material at the Ordot Dump.
One Hyundai R360LC 330 BL Hydraulic Excavator with bucket
Model Year: 2004. Used to spread and compact daily cover at the Ordot Dump.

Sealed bids will be accepted until Friday, June 1, 2012, by 2:00 p.m. Interested parties may make an appointment to inspect the equipment and all available paperwork for each piece of equipment by contacting either Chace Anderson or Linda Ibanez at candersongbb@gmail.com, lindaibanez@gmail.com, or 671-646-3111. The GSWA is a public agency, created by Guam Public Law 31-20. The agency is a totally self-funded operation whose mission is to help its customers dispose of their trash in an environmentally safe and regulated manner. Each week, GSWA employees collect curbside trash from approximately 17,000 GSWA customers. GSWA also receives trash collected by commercial haulers and transported to the Hauler’s Transfer Station. In all, the GSWA handles more than 90,000 tons of material a year. GSWA diverts material away from the landfill through services such as the Bulky and Metallic Waste curbside collection, recycling facilities at the Residential Transfer Stations, and prohibition of certain recyclables from being disposed at the Layon Landfill.
